Last week’s installment of the Wicked Winter of 2014 featured this blizzard with 46 mph wind gusts.

Sustained winds roared around 33 mph for much of the day. Our poor house shuddered as those winds howled and buffeted.

Note the swings dancing furiously.

This should be a view of Janet’s house, where Rebecca could not reach Tucker for their scheduled playdate.

Thankfully, the kids and I just remained at home on Friday. The city where Terry works (an hour away) was somehow skipped by this nasty weather. I was concerned about his drive home, though. Although Terry doesn’t travel on the interstate that passes through our area, a 30-40 car accident shut down many miles of US-127.

The worst of the blizzard was over by the time he returned. I was so relieved to see Terry’s car coming down the driveway.

And here the drifted snow halted the Charger. At least Terry arrived safely, suffering only a chilly, knee-deep hike to the house.
