As we arrived, a huge freighter was entering the Grand River.
The Grand Haven Inner Lighthouse Tower (approximately in the center of this photo) is currently enclosed in a temporary structure while the old lead-based paint is removed. [I wish I had zoomed in for a close shot, but alas I did not.] The tower will then be repainted with the same vibrant red as the South Pierhead Light.

I giggled at this photo. Looks like Christian is going to eat the buoy!
The beach was clean and beautiful with free parking. I wish we could have stayed longer, but we needed to move along to our next destination.
