AirVenture 2012 – OshKosh WI

Terry and his Dad have traveled to Wisconsin probably a dozen times for EAA’s AirVenture, a huge annual air show and convention. This year, however, our children attended with them for the first time.

This brand new RV-14 debuted at OshKosh. Terry is drooling. This is the model he would like to build 🙂

Terry’s dad bought the kit for this model of airplane a dozen years ago. Some if its pieces reside in our basement and others in Papa’s barn. They have been building it in fits and starts.

It’s called a Murphy Moose. While at OshKosh, Roy had hoped to speak with some people who had finished building a Moose.

Unfortunately, the only Moose they saw began taxiing out as soon as our family spotted it 😦

During the air show our family watched on July 26th, this restored Super Corsair was announced as one of only two in existence. Just yesterday (9.7.12), that airplane and its pilot crashed while preparing for another air show in North Dakota. Now there is only one 1945 Super Corsair in existence. Pilot Bob Odegaard died in the crash. How sad.
