Last weekend, several family members joined us at Italian Oven to celebrate Christian’s 14th birthday.
Grandma made this delicious homemade vanilla cake according to Christian’s request. Feingold-approved gummy worms and sprinkles adorned the artificial-free cake! Thanks, Grandma!
[I imagine there were artificial colorings used in the personalized license plate Grandma added as decoration, but we didn’t eat that:]
Rebecca volunteered to help light the candles.
Christian selected special candles with flames of different colors. Oooohhh.
Strangely, the unbirthday child received gifts, too 🙂
We thank our generous family for sharing the afternoon with us, as well as for the kind gifts.
Note: Although Italian Oven is NOT in our approved Feingold Association Restaurant Guide, we had hoped to eat here cleanly. I am sad to report that both children displayed horrible reactions throughout this past week. Focusing on schoolwork was a struggle. Although the bread, salads, pasta, and calzones we ate were delicious, they must have contained some artificial ingredients. Sigh.
