Good Morning, Colorado Springs!

We arrived in Colorado Springs after dark on Saturday night. Terry’s sister, Janet, had told us that her house was right next to the mountains. We had no idea that the mountains would be this close! From her front yard, this was our Sunday morning view!

This from the back yard!

My bloggy friend, Kristine, lived in Colorado Springs a few years ago. She kindly sent me several emails full of “must-see” attractions that her children had enjoyed in the area. Accompanying one of her personalized travel brochures (LOL!), Kristine inquired where we’d be staying. Janet and Ron’s house was in a subdivision called The Valley / Cheyenne Meadows right next to Fort Carson.

From what I recall, this highway divided Janet and Ron’s subdivision from Fort Carson.

Zooming along the expressway, we headed northwest to our first sight-seeing destination. Stay tuned for more pics tomorrow.

Can’t wait to see what all is on your must-do list! Pike’s Peak? The zoo (one of our personal favorites was the C’Springs one)? The Manitou Cliff Dwellings? Make a CD with your kids voices having some of the speaking parts in an Adventures in Odyessey program? (another of my personal favorites, but you do have to schedule that as I recall). Driving through Garden of the Gods? Those are definitely at the top of my list of things we’ve done or want to do (only one we haven’t done is PP).
