Terry scheduled 3 vacation days for the start of the 2010 firearm deer season. He and Rebecca stealthily hiked out to the blind each of those mornings. Terry hunted by himself that Monday afternoon because of TKD practice.
On Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, both children tromped out with him. Throughout many cold hours, no bucks were seen within range. So frustrating.
Our hunters switched to Papa’s blind, which is higher off the ground and typically witnesses more whitetail traffic.
Finally, only minutes from dusk on the Wednesday evening, antlers appeared through binoculars. 9 points about 200 yards out. Not as broad as Jupiter from last season, but still not a shabby catch. I’m including no photos here of the end result, but if Rebecca blogs about it, I’ll link to her post.
Thank you, Lord, for providing this food for our table.
