Operation Christmas Child

For several years our children have enjoyed selecting toys and toiletries for needy children across the globe. We usually pack a boy box…

and a girl box.

This year’s official collection week has passed, but you can begin collecting box-stuffers for next year. We’ve found slinkies in the dollar bins at Target, inexpensive crayons and markers during back-to-school sales, clearance t-shirts, hand towels and washcloths, etc.

The Samaritan’s Purse organization asks that one donates $7 to cover shipping costs for each box. This year I used my debit card to pay online. With the receipt appeared bar-coded labels that I printed and attached to each box.

The barcode on the label enables us to track each shoe box gift. You will receive an e-mail telling you the destination of your gift, along with information about Operation Christmas Child in that country. If your boxes go to more than one country, you will receive more than one e-mail.

Rebecca wrote a letter to tuck inside the girl box.

We look forward to the email reporting where our boxes land!
