Logslide Overlook

East of the Pictured Rocks are the Grand Sable Dunes, another spectacular stretch of Lake Superior shoreline.

This high point of the ridge along Lake Superior, part of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, is almost 300 feet above the water. – Hunt’s UP Guide

Legend has it that logs sent down the dry log chute would generate enough friction to cause the chute to catch fire. Today the chute is gone, but the lumberjack stories still linger as you gaze out over the Grand Sable Banks and Dunes. – nps.gov
