castles, coves, caves, & chiefs

Our Pictured Rocks Tour officially began with the Miners Castle formation. Strangely, on all our Pictured Rocks brochures, including the National Park System materials, this landmark is labeled without an apostrophe. My fingers jerked over to the apostrophe key when I typed Miners Castle. I itched to insert an apostrophe to show appropriate possession, but I don’t have enough information to declare it the castle of one miner (Miner’s Castle) or the castle of several miners (Miners’ Castle)! Argh! Just one of my grammatical pet peeves!

The weather in Munising was around 60* with a brisk wind. Rebecca was wisely prepared with a warm hat. Several tour guests asked her if she was expecting snow:)

If you think I’m inventing the names of these landmarks, take a look at the cruise map!
