A fall vacation led us across the Mighty Mac once again.
We happened upon the 3rd Annual Mackinac Bridge Antique Tractor Crossing. Several hundred tractors lined up with corresponding spectators along Mackinaw City streets. [Pedestrians are not normally allowed on the bridge.]
Such an odd sight! Daily we see tractors in the fields around our house, but we hadn’t before seen tractors cross the Mighty Mac! Because of the tractor parade backup, we spent about an hour between the bridge approach and finally arriving in St. Ignace on the opposite shore. Much longer than a typical crossing.
In the distance, Mackinac Island.
Lunchtime for the maintenance crew.
Another object not commonly viewed on a bridge!
Can you see the line between the primer and paint?
Stay tuned for more vacation pics.
