On windy St. Augustine Beach we said good-bye to Florida.
Rebecca nearly wore herself out attempting to fill her moat. Sand absorbed saltwater in swift fashion.
She resigned herself to building, nevertheless.
Note our fancy sandpails—plastic restaurant cups. Although both children had asked to bring real sandpails, there was simply no room left in our itty-bitty red car.
Reluctantly, we dragged our sandals from the beach.
These ducks swarmed Rebecca as Daddy conducted his precise trunk-repacking procedures. The inn owner walked by and instructed us to “take the ducks with you!”
Perhaps the ducks persist because of pretzel-tossing folk such as this?
