Milk Chocolate Chip and Peanut Butter Bars

My children recently requested these cookie bars, which I hadn’t baked in a looooooonnnnngggg time.

Milk Chocolate Chip and Peanut Butter Bars

1/2 C (1 stick) butter

1/2 C creamy peanut butter (we use Jif)

3/4 C granulated sugar

3/4 C packed brown sugar (either light or dark)

1 t vanilla extract

3  eggs

1 3/4 C all-purpose flour

1 1/2 t baking powder

1/2 t salt

2 C (11.5-oz. package) milk chocolate chips (we use Ghirardelli)

Preheat oven to 350* F.  Grease 9×13 baking pan.

In large bowl, beat butter and peanut butter; add granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla;  beat until well blended.  Add eggs; beat well.  Stir together flour, baking powder, and salt; add to butter mixture, beating until blended.  Stir in milk chocolate chips.  Spread batter in prepared pan.

Bake 35 minutes or until browned.  Cool and cut into bars.

Hmm, I’m stopping at the store after I leave the library here and go pick up Trev. I wonder if I can remember to grab chocolate chips? These sound wonderful, Heather!
