Hartwick Pines Field Trip

Views from the Old Growth Forest.

Hartwick Pines State Park … contains the largest stand of virgin white pines remaining in the lower peninsula.

Rebecca presents a tiny cone she discovered along our trail walk.

We also toured the Hartwick Pines Logging Museum.

An overwhelming glimpse of Michigan’s former purity.  Aside from the obvious beauty of the area, I enjoyed learning of our logging ancestors’ lifestyles.  [I’m itching to further explore our genealogy.]

Thanks, Kylee. Wish you could have attended the field trip with us.

The grass at the top of this theme makes me laugh. It has nothing to do with the rest of the theme–except it’s color:) Glad you enjoy it!
