None of us slept well last night. The pictured wind speed map indicates the reason for our poor slumber.
According to the Weather Channel, our county’s
… WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EDT THIS EVENING…
WEST WINDS OF 20 TO 35 MPH WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THE AREA THROUGH THIS MORNING. WIND GUSTS OF UP TO 45 MPH CAN ALSO BE EXPECTED. THESE WINDS COMBINED WITH COLDER AIR MOVING IN WILL PRODUCE WIND CHILLS IN THE SINGLE DIGITS AND TEENS TODAY.
WINDS WILL THEN GRADUALLY DIMINISH THROUGH THE AFTERNOON HOURS.
A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT WINDS OF GREATER THAN 30 MPH AND/OR WIND GUSTS OF GREATER THAN 45 MPH ARE EXPECTED. WINDS THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT… ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. USE EXTRA CAUTION.
We enjoy the privacy from fields nearly surrounding our house. On most days we appreciate the mile or so of empty field to our west. EXCEPT during wind storms. Our house shudders with each gust.
Please, Lord, could you slow the winds and send some warm weather??????
The children and I are huddling inside today. And we’re ignoring the fact that it’s recycling day. Those recyclables can wait in the basement until our next pick-up day!
