Our banging bar

Today, Button created a banging bar.  She used twine to tie old frying pans, a metal funnel, and a tambourine to the swingset crossbar.  She also located dowel rods to use as percussive mallets.

Our banging bar was inspired by the Soule family banging wall. Check your library for Amanda Soule‘s lovely, idea-filled book.

Button also climbed the swingset to tie a windchime to the frame.  Here, she was jumping to strike the windchime.

“What’s all that racket?”  Nara came to investigate and settled in for a chin-rub.

[And despite the fact that Button used a PURPLE tambourine, the song Green Tambourine is stuck in my head.  My mom had a 45 of that song (Lemon Pipers 1967).  Can you hear the song in your head now?  A clip can be found on YouTube if you’re curious.]

LOL! Thanks for the idea. I think that’s just what my ds needs!

  2. I love the banging bar. I’ll have to see if our library has the book you mention. It looks like we may get some fun new ideas. LOL
