DH was ambitious this weekend.
The triangular form you see had been a scrap-lumber-sandbox for the past two years. Said sandbox had overgrown with weeds.
For some strange reason, our children prefer to dig in the un-boxed sand by the barn instead.
DH wanted to simply remove the sandbox, but I wasn’t looking forward to a sandy, weedy triangle in the middle of our lawn. Together we formulated an improved landscaping plan.
DH transplanted that tree from a natural treeline along our driveway. The stone and mulch were left over from other projects. The bench previously lived on our front porch. I wish I would have taken a “before” picture to show the drastic transformation. It’s amazing.
Tomorrow, I plan to read our history literature on this bench. Doesn’t it look like a wonderful read-aloud spot?!?
Thank you for all your hard labor, DH!
Oh, and thank you, DC, for shoveling the stone! And don’t forget to water the tree.
